In Honduras, the fruit of the coffee tree has been known since the beginning of the 19th century, but for many years it was not cultivated and distributed worldwide, despite the ideal climatic conditions. This situation changed about 15 years ago, when farmers began to produce high-quality raw materials, which began to score high in the Cup of Excellence tests. Currently, Honduras is the 6th largest coffee exporter in the world. The size of coffee farms in the country ranges from 1.5 to 50 ha, and more than a million inhabitants are involved in the production of Arabica. Due to the fact that the bushes grow at such high altitudes, coffee beans mature more slowly, absorbing minerals and nutrients from the soil, which gives the fruit a unique distinctive and intense flavour.
